Having seen what a series of small paintings did for a good friend, I wanted to see what they could do for me. They were to be small, executed in a single sitting however long, and always from life. The initial aim, to train my hand and my eye, to return to some of the basics of image making.

The results have surprised me to say the least. I have been most surprised by the meat. They are, understandably, the pieces that elicit the most questions.

As with all of the work on this site, this portfolio is not intended to be a complete catalog. As these paintings are done in series, if there's a particular piece that you like, there may be another somewhat like it.
