The show opening in Bend at BICA went very well with a sometimes overwhelmingly positive response (a nice article about the gallery can be found here). I was fortunate to be able to help hang the show and amongst a very diverse collection of pieces, the work looked better than I could have hoped. The meat pieces were, as expected, somewhat divisive but sold immediately and there now appears to be a waiting list, albeit short, for paintings of meat.
We've got one more weekend of Open Studios. I had a great time meeting so many people. It's not often that the artist working alone in his studio gets to interact with so many people without the aid of gallery owners or friends to go hide behind. Thank you to everyone that took the time to come by and see the space. This coming weekend should have even more people coming through. I'll even have some newer work from the past week.
I need to get to work. Off to the butcher...
